Winter Oil-free Air Compressor Maintenance Tips

Jul 20, 2022

The arrival of severe winter is a severe challenge for mechanical equipment such as air compressors that must keep working in winter. How to make it stable and safe through the cold winter, AIPU teaches you a few tips for use and maintenance:

(1) The temperature difference between day and night in winter is relatively large, and condensed water needs to be discharged. If it is not discharged in time, it is likely to freeze and crack the exhaust pipe of the air compressor at night. Therefore, we suggest that users must pay attention to venting all gas, sewage, and water after shutting down for cooling in winter, and venting water, gas, and oil in various pipes and air bags. Because the unit is working in winter, the temperature is relatively high. The outside temperature is low, and a large amount of condensed water will be produced after the air is cooled. There are various control pipes, intercoolers and air bags, which are easy to block the control pipes, intercoolers, and air bags. Drain the condensed water in time.

(2) The temperature difference between day and night in winter is very large, which causes the valve plate and bearing of the air compressor to loosen very easily. Therefore, the user must also plan and check the looseness of the equipment step by step.

(3) In addition, cold weather will affect the service life of the oil-free air compressor, so it is recommended that the user appropriately shorten the use time.

(4) Pay attention to keep the environment clean and tidy, especially pay attention to the ground around the air compressor without water accumulation, in order to prevent ice and slip, causing the operator to fall. Although cold weather increases the risk factor of air compressor equipment failure, as long as the user is properly protected, it is still possible. Stable supply of compressed air for enterprise production.
